The correct approach to increasing the depth of freediving step by step without haste or risk.
Increasing depth in freediving is not a race, but rather a journey that requires patience and a precise scientific approach.
The first indicator: Calmness at the current depth
If you are reaching your current depth with complete calmness, complete relaxation, and a comfortable holding period, then you are ready for the next step.
Second indicator: Correct technique
Pressure settlement works smoothly at all current depths. The posture is correct and the movement is efficient.
Increase by one or two meters every week or every few sessions. A rapid increase does not give the body time to adapt.
Before each new depth, tell your partner and write down the plan. The new depth requires double attention from the partner.
If you reach a new depth and feel tension, distress, or difficulty settling, return to the previous depth and master it before trying again.
A diver who advances slowly builds a foundation that will hold him for years. He who hastens builds sand.
