Freediving vs scuba: the difference

Scuba uses a cylinder — in a try dive or a course. Freediving has no cylinder; the focus is relaxation and descent within the programme and instructor limits. Do not learn breath-hold drills from an article. Training happens on the published try or course. Start from the scuba try or the freediving try according to your interest.
