Four dives: search patterns, navigation, lines, and lift bags. A lift bag is not used to lift a diver, and the object is not clipped to the diver during ascent.
PADI Search and Recovery Diver

The specialty turns underwater search into a planned task: patterns, navigation, reels and lines, and lift bags used with a clear plan. Programme length: 2 days. Training includes knowledge development, pattern practice, knots and lift bags, and four open-water dives with a certified PADI Instructor. Safety: recovery needs planning and buoyancy control. A lift bag is not used to lift a diver. The recovered object must not be attached to the diver or the diver’s equipment during ascent. An Open Water Diver with the Underwater Navigator specialty may be accepted per PADI requirements. Schedule, cost, equipment, and conditions follow the centre; final acceptance depends on PADI requirements.
